Why Florian Guillaume recommends rrreefs
“They print reef bricks shaped like real coral, and the larvae move in. Direct, and rather beautiful.”
A Swiss deep-tech startup printing 3D reef bricks that mimic the complex micro-geometry of natural coral structures. The design, derived from coral CT scans and fluid dynamics research, maximises surface area and water flow, giving coral larvae and fish the habitat complexity of a real reef. rrreefs deploys its tiles in degraded reef zones, where corals naturally recruit and colonise. Target: help restore 1% of the world's coastal coral reefs by 2033. Founded by Ulrike Pfreundt (marine biologist

Material: pH-neutraler Meeresbeton.
