Why Florian Guillaume recommends Copenhill

“A power plant you can ski down. Bold, and I respect that they also show its contradictions honestly.”

Recommended by Florian Guillaume,

Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), CopenHill is Copenhagen's waste-to-energy power plant topped with a 490m ski slope, the world's tallest climbing wall (85m) and a hiking trail, opened 2019. It processes 440,000 tonnes of waste per year, heating 150,000 homes. Bjarke Ingels coined the concept 'hedonistic sustainability': infrastructure that is not only good for the environment, but enjoyable for citizens.
