## About Diazoma

A Greek civil society association founded in 2008 by former Interior Minister Stavros Benos to restore and revitalise the 150+ ancient theatres scattered across Greece, not as museum pieces, but as living cultural venues for local communities. Diazoma (Greek for the horizontal corridor in ancient theatres) channels private donations, EU funds and citizen volunteering into archaeological restoration combined with community programming. Over 15 years: more than €120M in restoration investment, 67 theatres restored, 300,000+ spectators attending performances in ancient venues annually. Won the Europa Nostra Heritage Award. Proves that heritage protection and community vitality are the same act.
